Where we work and what changes by area
Vancouver Kitchen Renovations Co covers the City of Vancouver, the North Shore, Burnaby, Richmond, New Westminster and the Tri-Cities — roughly a 45 km radius of downtown Vancouver. Travel inside that area is not billed separately, and rates are the same everywhere in it.
What does change by area is the building. The approvals, the age of the services and the layouts we find behind the drywall are genuinely different from one part of the region to the next, and that changes the schedule more than the distance ever does.
| Area type | What tends to be true | What it changes |
|---|---|---|
| Downtown and Yaletown towers | Concrete slabs, plumbing risers in shared walls, strata alteration agreements, booked service elevators | 2–6 weeks of approval before day one; no moving the stack |
| Pre-1940 character homes | Out-of-plumb walls, sloping floors, knob-and-tube, small closed-off kitchens | Scribed cabinetry, likely electrical upgrade, possible wall removal |
| Post-war East Side and North Shore | 60–100 amp panels, original galley layouts, basement suites sharing service | Panel upgrade often needed; suite kitchens add a second scope |
| Newer suburban builds | Square rooms, adequate service, builder-grade cabinetry and laminate counters | Straightforward swap; money goes into cabinetry and stone, not remediation |
Response and travel times
Free in-home measures are booked within 2 to 5 business days across the whole service area. Enquiries are answered within one business hour, 24 hours a day. Emergency call-outs after a flood are same-day anywhere inside the coverage radius.
Distance affects when we can get there, not what we charge. A Coquitlam kitchen is quoted at the same rates as a Mount Pleasant one; the difference shows up only as an earlier start on site.
